Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for OpenShift Architects in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key responsibilities

  • Define standards and patterns for efficient and consistent container deployments.
  • Consult with Product Development teams on efficient, pattern-based container deployments, namespace design, and sizing. Define best practices and patterns for use of Service Mesh.
  • Define layout and usage patterns for OpenShift Operators.
  • Ensure that the Security-by-Design is a foundational component of every deployed workload.
  • Contribute to creation, management, and upkeep of Intranet FAQs, user guides and knowledgebase, standards and build documents for ROSA-AWS integration, and platform deployment patterns. Lead identification of new concepts, ideas, techniques, and technology assistance (best practices, guidelines, and design patterns for supported technologies).
  • Perform cost benefit analysis to determine best system architectures.
  • Aid development of ROSA Platform Usage Statistics and Reporting dashboards for account owners.
  • Mentor engineering and development staff on public cloud integration design and hygiene, driving quality, consistency, resiliency, security, and supportability into designs.
  • Design and maintain standard templates, reference architectures, and design patterns that aid other Platform/Cloud Engineers in development of standards-based designs.
  • Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per alternating week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years of experience in IT development/architecture. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 4 years’ experience in IT development / architecture.
Must have work experience with:
  • Architecture and design of enterprise software solutions, applications, integrations, security, and platform engineering
  • Defining and maintaining accountability to Architectural Design Patterns and serving as a technology domain’s escalation point utilizing: TOGAF, Zachman, Federal EAF, iServer, ServiceNow, and UML
  • Leading Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise technology environment
  • Using the following technologies, principles and programming languages: CFT, CDK, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EKS, ECS, S3, EC2, IAM, Kinesis, GitLab CI-CD, Jenkins, Terraform, Code Build/Code Pipeline, ArgoCD, Docker, Chef, Ansible, Nexus, OpenShift, K8, Docker, VMWare, Dynatrace, Datadog, Kibana, Grafana, Python, Node.js, Go, gRPC, GraphQL, API, SOAP, and XACML
