Reporting to the Chief of Human Resources, Corporate Responsibility, and Communications, the incumbent is responsible for the overall management of total compensation, benefits, and pension plans for both unionized and non-unionized staff, as well as all regulatory disclosure processes related to compensation as a public company.
They play a strategic role in developing, updating, and governing fair, competitive total compensation policies aligned with business objectives. They directly contribute to attracting, retaining, and engaging talent by developing competitive compensation structures tailored to the organization’s strategic plan and context.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain total compensation programs tailored to various organizational groups, considering best practices and financial capacity.
- Act as a strategic advisor and partner to internal stakeholders, including managers, HR business partners, and the recruitment team.
- Ensure governance of compensation policies and alignment with the HR committee’s expectations.
- Monitor market trends, identify internal gaps, and recommend proactive adjustments.
- Lead pay equity processes (Quebec and Canada).
- Recommend salary increase budgets and obtain HR committee approval.
- Manage group insurance plans, including governance and renewals.
- Oversee governance of various pension plans and lead governance and performance review committees for unionized and non-unionized staff.
- Manage the employee stock purchase plan.
- Develop, manage, and govern short- and long-term incentive plans for eligible staff, including senior executives.
- Support labor relations teams during collective bargaining with compensation analyses and recommendations.
- Oversee executive compensation disclosure in the annual proxy circular.
- Implement a wellness program promoting overall health, work-life balance, and employee engagement.
- Act as a leader by positively influencing organizational culture through a human, inclusive, and strategic approach to compensation and by fostering team development.
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
