The FLIGHT DECK Leader will play a pivotal role in driving GE Aerospace’s lean transformation by developing and delivering training programs and multi-day bootcamps for the Technology & Operations (T&O) organization. This leader will focus on teaching the FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and coaching teams on their application within the production system to achieve operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Bootcamp Facilitation
- Collaborate on the design and develop comprehensive training materials aligned with FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, including Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Value Stream Management, Operating Cadences, Action Planning, Problem Solving, 5S, and Flow/Pull.
- Plan and execute multi-day bootcamps to immerse participants in the FLIGHT DECK operating model.
- Teach participants how to apply FLIGHT DECK tools and methods to real-world production challenges.
- Facilitate hands-on exercises, genba walks, and problem-solving sessions to reinforce learning.
Coaching and Leadership Development:
- Provide one-on-one and team coaching to build lean capabilities within the T&O organization.
- Mentor participants on how to integrate FLIGHT DECK principles into their daily work and decision-making processes.
- Support leaders in developing their Leader Standard Work to sustain improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine training content and delivery methods.
- Promote a culture of learning and improvement by encouraging participants to share best practices and lessons learned.
Operational Execution:
- Partner with T&O teams to implement FLIGHT DECK fundamentals within the production system, ensuring alignment with SQDC priorities.
- Providing coaching support to kaizen events and problem-solving initiatives to address operational challenges.
- Support organization in the understanding, application and sustainment of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in lean manufacturing or transactional processes, value stream management, or continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and GE Aerospace Behaviors.
- Exceptional facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change in complex systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with tools such as Calendar Choreography, Leader Standard Work and Metric Cascade
- Experience organizing and producing large immersive training events focused on in-tact teams.
- Experience conducting genba walks and applying lean principles in production environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on transparency and inclusivity.
Pay and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $167,000 - $222,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
