Duty Maintenance Manager

Your role

The Duty Maintenance Manager provides leadership and strategic oversight for the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) team when on shift, ensuring all activities comply with EASA, CAA, and NAA regulatory requirements. This role is central to ensuring the efficient and effective management of CAMO technical operations, including fleet performance management, AOG recovery, Operation liaison and Management reporting.

 

Role Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the aircraft technical performance in service to provide the highest possible safety and OTP for the Aer Lingus Fleet
  • The DMM shall Manage and co-ordinate the return to service of all AOG aircraft with other departments including flight Operations to ensure technical issues which may arise are managed in the most effective manner.
  • The DMM will have oversight of the Management of outstation defects and AOG situations to ensure Aer Lingus personnel and contracted MRO’s have relevant EASA Part 21 approved data, equipment and tools to perform maintenance.
  • Review and Evaluation of Deferred Defects raised by the 145 organisations and approval of said defects while ensuring that defects are rectified at the earliest opportunity.
  • Liaising with engine and other OEMs for any technical issues that may arise out of Hours
  •  Ensuring that all Out of hours, Airworthiness Directive (AD) monitored and if require actioned to assist the Engineering Department in maintaining airworthiness standards.
  • Execute responsibilities as outlined in the CAME and MCC procedures.
  • Manage the co-ordination of the Team within the MCC including the DMES, Tech Support, Duty Materials and Short-Term Planning, ensuring that the Aircraft are returned to service Airworthy in a time frame ensuring minimising Operational impact.
  • Be the point of contact and coordinate the maintenance actions at outstations.
  • To ensure that Maintenance performed at on call or ADHOC outstations are correctly recorded in AMOS.
  • Coordinate with the Line Maintenance teams at all approved line stations to ensure all required maintenance is carried out at these locations within the respective due dates and times.
  • Provides continuous updates of the fleet status to the M&E management team, and operations.
  • Engage with flight crew to address technical queries and when required and the issue of outstation and off gate MEL release.
  • Ensure that the events are recorded and managed within Event tracker including Delays

Your qualifications and key criteria

Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • EASA Part 66 B1/B2 licence or equivalent or a 3rd level qualification in an aviation engineering-related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience working in an Airline Maintenance or Engineering environment.
    Airbus A320 or A330 type training.
    Essential competencies/skills
  • General knowledge of National, Part 145 & Part CAMO regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, and implement procedures effectively.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of the Airbus fleet with excellent technical judgement and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage staff to achieve operational goals and high standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Airline, CAMO, and Maintenance operations.
  • Familiarity with MEL, AMM, TSM, and other Airworthiness Data.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in the use of Aircraft Maintenance and flight operations systems.
     

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous MCC or MOC experience
  • Experience with the AMOS maintenance system.
  • Experience with Airbus Aircraft or similar commercial aircraft, particularly in a 145 or CAMO management capacity.
