Job Description:
The Mechanical Design Lead Engineer for Test Rigs will lead, supervise and execute activities associated with design of complex mechanical systems for engine, module and component testing (Mechanical Test Enabling Hardware), for both Civil and Military programs.

Essential responsibilities

  • Execute, with limited guidance, the design, analysis, evaluation of Mechanical Test Enabling Hardware that meet business standards, practices and procedures as well as the product/program requirements, in line with decisions concurred at Systems level.

  • Support the development of new mechanical concepts with the use of CAD tools.

  • Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments.

  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and report project status, business issues and significant developments to design team.

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Previous proven experience in design of complex mechanical systems.

  • Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations.

  • Good knowledge of Advanced CAD Systems (preferable NX & Teamcenter).

  • Good knowledge of complex 2D and 3D shapes modelling CAD techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).

  • Basic knowledge of Stress Analysis, Structure Dynamics simulation techniques and Rotor-Dynamics Fundamentals.

  • Strong technical attitude and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize the working tasks.

  • Fluency in English and Italian language, both written and oral.

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.

  • Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience.
