Join us at TeamGlobal, where excellence empowers us!Role SummaryIn this role, you will perform fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of experimental and production aircraft components and systems in accordance with engineering and developmental specifications. You will support flight test activities, assist engineering with functional test procedures, maintain accurate records of work performed, and ensure proper functioning of ground support equipment. You will use a variety of hand tools, powered shop equipment, and precision measurement instruments to assemble, modify, and inspect aircraft components, including sheet metal and composite materials.
Education & Job Requirements
* You must have:
* Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* A minimum of basic knowledge of aircraft systems and the ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, manuals, and Test Preparation Systems.
* A minimum of working knowledge of manuals necessary to perform the job, including Aircraft Maintenance manuals, Manufacturing manuals, equipment manuals, parts catalog, and applicable FAA documents.
* A minimum of working knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures.
* A minimum of mechanical ability to use both basic hand tools and powered shop equipment, including rivet gun, drill press, surface grinder, belt sander, sheet metal roller, 90/45 degree drills, shear, band saw, and brake.
* A minimum of ability to obtain and renew certifications, including Broderson Crane, Power Lift, Fork Lift, Bonding, and Sealing certifications. Preferred Skills
* You will have:
* Advanced sheet metal and composite skills.
* Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments.
* Skills necessary to perform flat pattern layouts, fabricate and assemble detail parts and components, apply sealing compounds, and troubleshoot aircraft test systems to repair discrepancies.
* Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices required for fabrication, assembly, and inspection tasks. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able:
* Adhere to the companys general work requirements.
* Perform final assembly on experimental equipment and tire build-up, modify flight test aircraft components per engineering requirements, and assist production in building or assembling first and designated aircraft and experimental/production equipment.
* Fabricate and modify production and experimental aircraft parts according to engineering specifications.
* Maintain records of changes, inspections, and control tire history in tire and fabrication shops.
* Assist engineering with revising functional test procedures.
* Set up fixtures for static, fatigue, pressure, and bird strike tests, and assemble aircraft sections for testing.
* Prepare aircraft test components and systems, perform nondestructive and destructive testing, and support aircraft mock-ups in various flight test configurations.
* Perform off-site aircraft testing as required, inspect, maintain, and repair ground support equipment, and assist with the installation of experimental parts on aircraft.
* Order parts and materials required for mock-ups, assembly, and installations per experimental engineering drawings.
