Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Weld Engineer to work closely with our manufacturing engineering group. This role is located at our Wilmington, MA facility.

Qualifications
Ability to fabricate and weld parts accurately by interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions and specifications to meet quality and dimensional requirements.Experience creating Weld Documentation Procedures such as Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ).Must be able to lift 35 lbs.Proficient in applying shop math to ensure precision in fabrication and welding tasks.Receive, check, and verify subassemblies needed for work orders and help resolve discrepanciesFabricate and weld various parts correctly using drawings, work procedures, and specificationsCheck and inspect work at in-process and final check points per weld proceduresMaintain a safe and clean work environmentHave familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes
Desired Qualifications
Experience in setting up, programming, and operating electron beam welding machines is wanted.
Experience with Pro-Beam Electron Beam Welding systems is a plus.
Experience with programming EB welders using Siemens 840D controls is also desired
Expereince with AWS D17.1
Expereince operating within ISO 9001 or AS9100 compliant quality systems.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in engineering required
Experience:
Minimum 2-5 years experience in Quality Engineering, in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment. Six sigma lean, green belt, or black belt preferred.
2 years of experience in precision welding or operating EBW systems
