This role is responsible for developing, decomposing, integrating, and verifying system and subsystem designs and requirements, ensuring full traceability and validation from vehicle-level architecture down to component and software requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop system and subsystem requirements, including decomposition and traceability to component-level requirements using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo MagicDraw)
- Model system and platform behaviors using SysML diagrams
- Develop vehicle- and subsystem-level integration plans, test procedures, and verification plans
- Perform functional analysis to define operational flows and concepts of execution
- Ensure designs are fully defined, traceable, and validated through integration and verification testing
- Integrate subsystems and components into existing vehicle architectures
- Provide technical inputs to program planning, schedules, and cost estimates
- Capture and review system/subsystem connectivity diagrams using MBSE and electrical design tools (e.g., Capital Logic / Capital Enterprise)
- Support cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- Clearance:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, if required
- Experience:
- 7–10 years of systems engineering experience (fewer years considered with an advanced degree)
- Experience developing system and subsystem requirements, system specifications, and requirements compliance from high-level customer requirements
- Experience with requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification
- Experience developing subsystem requirements from allocated system requirements
- Technical Skills:
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo MagicDraw or similar tools
- Requirements management tools such as DOORS and/or Teamcenter Requirements Manager
- Capital Enterprise / Capital Logic or similar electrical and connectivity design tools
- Data bus architectures including CAN, J1939, and Ethernet
- System-level integration and verification testing
- Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in office, shop, lab, test site, and vehicle environments
- Ability to climb on/off and work within military vehicles
- Must meet ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) for confined spaces
- On-site presence and occasional evening/weekend work may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- Experience in the Defense Industry, particularly land-based or military vehicle systems
- Experience working with U.S. Government customers
