Onsite in Huntsville, AL Schedule: 9x80
Software engineer to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as part of the IDT team. This role is responsible for building software test automation products supporting system requirement verification efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance software test automation frameworks for system and integration-level testing
- Support requirements verification and validation (V&V) efforts across complex weapon system software
- Write, maintain, and debug test software primarily using Java and C++
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot test software in Linux environments (RHEL 8 preferred)
- Collaborate with engineers across the IDT to integrate test automation into the development lifecycle
- Utilize version control and defect tracking tools to support disciplined software development
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret security clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited university and 2+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience & Technical Skills
- Professional software development experience using Java and C++
- Experience with Git for source control
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting software in Linux environments (RHEL preferred)
- Experience using Eclipse IDE
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
Preferred Qualifications:
- Missile Defense or Ground Weapons System domain knowledge
- Experience with MySQL for database management and data retrieval
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket)
- Security+ certification
- Experience with Ada programming
- Familiarity with software containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
