Job PurposeThe Engineering Projects department specializes in evaluating, specifying, and negotiating new and used aircraft acquisitions. We oversee the entire process, from initial evaluation and assembly inspection to final delivery and acceptance.
As a Project Engineer in the Engineering department, you will manage designs and development of commodity and system projects in their respective fields: Cabin Interior or IFE and Avionics.
Define technical specification of aircraft product and configuration based on all internal stakeholders input and ensure that the Buyers Furnished Equipment (BFE) and Suppliers Furnished Equipment (SFE) are delivered to expected high quality specification and on-time.
In this role you will:
- Gather requirements from internal stakeholder such as: Service Delivery, Fleet planning, Flight Ops, Catering, Airport Services, FTM, maintenance and leadership and prepare technical specification for commodities and systems.
- Carry out technical evaluation of proposed BFE and SFE products. Provide risk assessment and recommendations to project manager.
- Manage commodities / systems project, participate in Initial Technical Coordination Meetings, Preliminary Design Review Meetings, Critical Design Review Meetings, First Article Inspections and Source Inspections.
- Coordinate with Suppliers and OEM (Aircraft Manufacturer) on regular basis such as weekly conference calls, workshops, program status review meetings.
- Coordinate with OEM (Airbus / Boeing) on product interface requirements, integration, maintainability, layout and configuration.
- Regularly update on project status, key issues and milestone achievements to project manager and VP Engineering projects.
- Ensure during design and development, regulatory requirements, safety requirements, OEM (Boeing / Airbus) requirements and internal stakeholders inputs and feedbacks are addressed.
- Provide BFE material, fit check and test parts requirement for the project to BFE management team.
- As per functional structure, work with primary and secondary focal of project and seek necessary guidance.
QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Experience of 5+ years in Engineering Project and Aviation.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferably in Aviation and/or
- Holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
- Knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends on respective products systems.
- Ability to analyse and synthesise technical information for implementation in cost effective ways.
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex tasks and decision making in a fast paced environment.
- Project management and reporting skills.
