Location: Charlotte, NC Pay Rate: $27.75/hour Schedule: Full Time (1st shift)
About the Role:
Are you ready to play a key role in the manufacturing industry? As an Engineering Laboratory Services and Support Technician at PDS Tech Commercial, you’ll support the production and development teams by performing crucial laboratory functions that keep operations running smoothly. From setting up and calibrating test equipment to troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, your work will directly impact the success of engineering tests and the development of state-of-the-art manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Set-Up & Calibration: Assist with the set-up and tear-down of large water-cooled chillers, ensuring equipment is properly calibrated for testing.
Troubleshooting & Testing: Connect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate, inspect, and maintain test setups to detect malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
Data Recording & Reporting: Accurately record data, document findings, and report any issues or malfunctions to support engineering teams.
Support Engineering Testing: Provide essential support for engineering tests of chillers and other HVAC-related systems.
Use of Industrial Tools: Employ industrial tools, such as pneumatic hand tools, for equipment setup and maintenance.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry regulations, including EPA refrigerant handling and LO/TO controls.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
3+ years of experience using hand and pneumatic tools
Ability to lift and move weights up to 35 lbs
Excellent mechanical aptitude with a keen ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HVAC or large commercial equipment
Knowledge of commercial HVAC industrial operations
Instrumentation setup, troubleshooting, and calibration experience
Familiarity with laboratory equipment for pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements
Strong PC skills for data entry and reporting
Experience or familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation
Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and drawings

Pay Details: $27.75 per hour
