Summary:
Responsible for building harnesses per wiring diagrams and form boards, following Class 3 IPC standards.
Tasks include soldering, crimping, inserting contacts into connectors, and torquing backshells.
Must be able to interpret written instructions from mechanical engineering and read engineering schematics independently.
Build cable harnesses to wiring diagrams and form boards
Perform soldering, crimping, and plugging contacts into connectors
Torque backshells according to specifications
Follow Class 3 IPC workmanship standards
Interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Use hand and power tools, jigs, and saws to complete assemblies
Conduct continuity checks and visual inspections on in-process and completed work
May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype units
Adhere to quality control standards and perform in-line inspections
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
1 2 years of hands-on cable harness assembly experience
1 2 years reading and interpreting engineering schematics
1 2 years working to the following standards:
IPC-WHMA-A-620
IPC-A-610
IPC-J-STD-001
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
