Role Summary
* In this role, you will perform assembly and integration engineering activities supporting aircraft systems installation, wiring integration, and routing design. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining 3D installation models, ensuring configuration integrity, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting system installation requirements in accordance with established standards and procedures. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, another engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics.
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in systems installation design with working knowledge of electrical, fluid, and mechanical routing requirements and installation hardware.
* Experience performing conveyance system routing and wire harness design using CATIA V5, CATIA V6, or 3DX.
* Proficiency in 3D modeling using CATIA V5, CATIA V6, or preferably 3DX.
* Working knowledge of integrated wiring systems and wiring integration assembly.
* Experience interpreting wire diagrams and electrical schematics.
* Experience developing and working within established engineering processes and procedures.
* Basic understanding of Digital Mock-Up (DMU) application and implementation.
* Experience using PLM, design, scheduling, and reporting tools.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
* Ability to identify problems and develop solutions independently.
* Must be a U.S. Person. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Develop 3D models of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical equipment installations, electrical bonding, and electrical supports.
* Produce and refine 3D layouts to convey optimized routing, packaging concepts, build strategies, and sourcing strategies.
* Maintain aircraft system installation configuration integrity, including routing paths, structural penetrations, and passthroughs.
* Coordinate system provisioning and interface requirements with Airframe Design and other Integrated Product Teams.
* Establish and enforce system installation requirements such as minimum line clearance and system separation.
* Ensure compliance with DMU and 3D modeling standards.
* Develop, test, and document new procedures for relational design and model-based definition techniques.
* Oversee preparation, initial release, and revision of 3D installation datasets.
* Coordinate system-specific installation requirements and dataset approvals with Design IPTs and Certification Authorities.
* Track and report progress to the Assembly and Integration Team Leader.
