Role Overview:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for a team of quality inspectors, including work direction, prioritization, and resource balancing across shifts and value streams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning; encourage ideas from inspectors to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Drive KPI performance, deliver performance reviews, coaching, and development planning; recognize strong performance and address performance gaps in a timely, fair manner.
- Ensure inspectors are properly trained, certified, and qualified for assigned tasks; maintain and track required certifications and recurring training.
- Maintain strong, visible presence on the floor; remove obstacles for the inspection team; promote a culture of safety, quality, and respect.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to ensure compliance with drawings, technical data, specifications, and procedures.
- Support and, where authorized, approve disposition decisions on nonconforming product in collaboration with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Lead or support investigations of nonconformances, escapes, and customer findings; ensure robust root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics (e.g., defects, rework, escapes, first-pass yield); use data to identify trends and drive improvement actions.
- Ensure inspectors follow standard work, control plans, and inspection instructions; help create and update work instructions and checklists as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing, and Quality).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Experienced People Leader. Strong understanding of AS9100, Customer Quality Requirements, PC-108, Inspection methods
