The Cargo System Analyst will lead the functional analysis of assigned business areas through constant interaction with the process owners and customers. Provide process knowledge and business analysis and inputs on process and systems improvements to the information technology development teams (either internal or external). Test, implement and organise the training of the tested systems across the network.
In this role, you will:
- Generic:
-Research, collate, analyse and document all the current and future business needs (processes and systems) and the changes that are required in the business process/systems by interacting with the concerned process owners, senior management, regulatory authorities, other logistics partners and customers to ensure that short and long term business requirements will be met by the system. Identify and promote areas that offer cost saving, productivity gain and/or maximising the use of the system.
-Conduct a gap analysis to identify, evaluate the current/future shortfalls and recommend the process changes/solutions that are required in light of the system requirements to satisfy the current and future business needs to ensure that the processes and systems developed & delivered will be properly aligned.
-Develop and educate the systems providers assigned team on the concerned business areas to help them to understand the industry trends, changes in the business needs, short & long term business objectives, etc. Facilitate and translate the business requirements with the systems providers ensuring these are understood for translation into systems requirements. - Cargo System Analyst
-Lead, influence and facilitate the requirement analysis, design review meetings with the Process Owners to help the systems providers development team to understand and appreciate the business requirements and improve user interface. It is important for the jobholder to be receptive to the needs of the end users and manage their expectations from the system prospective, and influence them on the changes/improvements to the systems/processes. Manage this within the project plan.
-Review, analyse and evaluate the documents produced by the development team to ensure that the entire documents accurately reflect all the business needs. Interact with the process owners, other regulatory authorities and connected parties to review the same and co-ordinate with the development team to address deviations. Will also be responsible to review and sign off the BUCs produced by the consultants. Scope creep has to be managed and addressed to ensure the project deliverables are not compromised.
-Oversea and facilitate the testing of all enhancements and systems produced by the development team for the concerned business areas, to ensure that all the new systems are comprehensively tested (including interface) and feedback is provided to the development team ensuring the feedback is incorporated in the system. Ensure all the bugs are fixed prior to rolling out the system to the network in a qualitative manner. Coordinate and ensure testing is conducted among the key outstation users as well.
-Manage post cut over of new systems and enhancements act as the system consultants to the users during the induction period and provide functional support to comprehend the system and the business logic. Act as the functional expert for the modifications and enhancements to the system and prioritise them based on strategic business drivers as opposed to individual staff or station needs. As the Divisions business and automation requirements are expected to grow and automation is expected to play a key role in reducing the proportionate cost growth.
QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Degree or Honours in a relevant field (12+3 or equivalent).
- 5+ years experience in Logistics or related areas
- Working experience in areas such as Express Door to Door services, Air Cargo, logistics and supply chains, operations, warehousing, freight forwarding etc, or
- Experience as a business systems analyst implementing optimisation & automation initiatives based around technology.
- Good understanding of all aspects/concepts of Express Logistics, and supply chains is useful but not critical.
- Ability to analyse business requirements for systems and understanding the application systems development life cycle including compliance with business process and SDLC methodology.
- Knowledge of new and emerging technologies like Blockchain, IoT, RFID smart tags, GPS tracking, etc.
- Very good understanding of API technology including documentation & testing. Knowledge of other secure integration frameworks between various internal & external systems is a plus
